is it worth getting my hands on one of these if the price is right? are they moddable with a max232 or do they need jtagged or somethign more technical like an SPI programmer? also, are they using the same 10V psu the webstars do? as i've got a spare one of those, and the ambit i can get my hands on has no psu with it.

well, the psu is good news at least

since the modem is dirt cheap, i might get it just to tinker with, found schematics for a diy spi flash programmer, so it might be a fun little project
