Default Starview 3 The box super.

Hi guys and girls,

Hope someone can help or has come across this problem.

I just brought a couple of boxes of fleabay (ooops), One is bricked which I will attempt to JTag at a later date, the other one will not let me update the firmware or even axcess the hidden menu.

The system info id as follows -:

THE BOX Super
API ver : 6.00e
Boot ver : 8.0
18 Jan 2008

I can get FTA programmes and a scan comes up with all the channels it should, I have attempted to flash the box (with a null cable, that has worked before) with both 8.02 and 8.04 versions but every time the loader says "Flash update fail" and my box reboots.

I have searched through the forums but cant seem to come acroos a solution.

Any ideas to this Problem?

was going to say change your nmc but if its worked before, it should be ok.
assume you know what you are doing, but is your box in s/by when you try to flash it?
or have you gone from xp to vista? or maybe from a pc to a laptop? this may be of some help but i,m sure smarter folks than me will sort you out soon..

Thanks for the advice Martin-f have tried what you have said but all that is happening is that the display on the box is showing 'UADL' and sometimes 'LD80'. If I had hair I would have be pulling it out.

When I do turn the box on after clicking download, the downloading bar just stays at 0%, I have also tried to flash the box whilst it is on standby but still come back as 'flash update fail ....'

Also 1668 still does not open secret menu, I will scout about the forums to see what UADL & LD80 mean.

Hope someone can help me

you won't get into the secret menu if it only has the free to air firmware on it.
try flashing with older firmware and if successful you can then try building up to the latest firmware.
you can get the older software off the DeJa vu toolbar

Thanks smoggy for the advice, have just installed the deja vu toolbar but nothing on there with regards to firmware or files, any chance you could PM me with a link to an older version of the firmware I need.
