but is there not a time limet to his ban etc has this infraction made him say something he should not have

can mods post the text why the infraction occurred

That would be good mate to see what the rules actually state and what was said but like i said knowing bad_ad84 it was probably for something that could have been dealt with better.
I am not sure on this but but i believe a Ban is permanent?
And to be honest mate if i had put all that time and effort helping others develop there knowledge and was banned or warned for something minor,than i would also take that personal and feel i was not being appreciated

I dont think he swore or said anything bad after he got the infraction. He was just expressing his feelings. Dont know if he should have been banned for that not???????

I dont know if he insulted anyone but knowing him i doubt it,i think the only people that could look into this further would be admin

Infraction or not, I think this could have been dealt with in a better way as he was a very knowledgeable guy-I think if you see the positive input he has put in on Techwatch it by far blows away the odd post that was said to be abusive-i've not seen him be this way in threads i've seen?

As said before a quiet word from someone "above" i'm sure would have sufficed-from the guys posts he certainly seems to be here to help and not to be anything else? I hope now this doesn't mean the end of Bads time here as he's banned and can't answer at the moment because of this. If it is I wish him all the best and thanks for what he's done here anywaybut shame it had to come to an end like this as it's one of the friendliest forums i've been on.

All the posts i have seen Bad_ad84 post he is always helping with his knowlege it is a great loss to this forum.
I hope the admin team can look into this further as it is a shame

Totally agree mate-what knowledge i have i try to pass on to others, be is small, but we all have to help in our own way-it's when you lose a guy like this that has some 900+ odd posts in 3 months, and in a field where I had no clue before, that I now have a little understanding shows that I can hopefully pass on some of the knowledge i've learn't to others. Without people like this in the first place means we don't learn. If I look back 3 months on here the modem section was pretty much dead-look now and it's buzzing. I know this place started as sattellite forum but since then it's grown alot bigger and cable/modems play a big part here. Anyway off to bed now-maybe i'll wake up and it's all been a dreamor i'll get one of those fractions too(never was good at maths anyway)

Right. Can I begin by saying I can understand how sometimes bad_ad84's attitude may have come across as abrasive.

HOWEVER, this abrasiveness was never (IMO) misplaced, his frustration would only show when people had clearly not made any effort to read the forums before posting, or whose posts clearly showed they had no business dabbling in the world of modem modding.

If you put the amount of effort into helping people with genuine and unique modem issues as he did, can you not understand how the man may have occasionally 'been short' with people who asked the obvious - already answered questions?

FFS i've wanted to really slate people a few times on here and I bit my tongue so to speak, but on the other hand I don't post nearly as much anyway.

As bad_ad84 clearly put so much time into helping others...by choice, I find it disrespectful that TW gave him this infraction. A quiet word, maybe...arbitrary 'infraction', no. But a BAN?!?! His response to the infraction is his own choice, but recieving the infraction could only have been taken as a slap in the face.

AFAIK there has been no reason given for the ban, other than removal of his own posts.

@Robbo, Was he abusive in the sat forums?

Feel free to ban me if you disagree with me strongly enough, but in this case TW admin, you have fuc*ed up.

PS an answer would be nice.

I agree with you fitz to an extent i mean there is alot of new people who come looking for answers and its all there all they need to do is search and they will find answers but when there is only one person who has to keep on repeating himself time and time again he would get vexed and ****ed off like the last thread before this he posted on about the 50meg config near the end of the thread sum guy askin for the config wen its in that thread. Lol. Obviously he gna call him thick or dumb or watever he may call him think this decision needs looking into.
