Newb being overly cautious...

Hi all.

With the assistance of the forum and some great resources in the DL section, I'm now almost ready to go! Thanks to MikeData for a great service with the unlooper! I recieved the unlooper at about 1 today, and thanks to the tuts on here and mikes suppied info I'm now in possession of my BK and an unlocked card

The next step for me is to make the MOSC, and I just wanted to check something. I've got the TW BN11 file, but before I put it to the card and test it I want to be sure it's the right file, as it's date is 4/3/2006 which seems a bit old. Is this the right file to use?

first think i would do is save your image of the orignal card, or write down and keep very safe your bk and ird, i would all so use the dd image, it has a blocker on there whitch will protect your card,and all you do is put bk and ird in,,but a warning if you do use them, you can no longer get your bk from them (that is why you write them down) you will have to wipe all of it witch is easy to do, theres no messing with teirs or dates

the one i used that works normally dated on 20/02/2008 but as long as u have the BK then u free to try it, what is the worst thing that can happen? lock ur card? there are lots of ways to unlock it.

but its always better to change them (if you know what u doing) so that u have unique image.

Right, talkback is cut, MOSC is written (i changed dates on all tiers and changed CAM ID's for a unique image), NETID is set...Is there anything else I need to do before I connect a cable feed, or am I good to go? I know I'm being a bit wussy about this, but I'd rather get it right first time than possibly ruin my MOSC. So, TB cut, MOSC ready, NETID set - job done?

I've plugged in and only get FTA channels. The others give me a "not authorised to view" message. I was at first thinking it was the image (used DD from DL section), but I've noticed a bit of a strange thing with the NETID.

I bought the box from my local area (so it should have the right NetID anyway), the NetID originally on the box corresponds to S Yorks, but my subbed box shows it's NetID as something different. I've set the new box's NetID to the same as the subbed box, but maybe I should set it to it's original S Yorks NetID?

Any thoughts?

Edit: I've had it plugged in and set to a FTA channel for about 45 mins, might it need a bit longer?

If it helps, I'm in the DN4 area using 40962, though now I'm gonna try 40964
