Try using graphedit to connect to the graph when BBCHD is playing, that way you can see what audio codec is being used, In my experience using the media center decoder utility only seemed to change the video codec, so I have to re prioritise the audio codecs using Directshow filter manager, search for the audio codecs ad change your preffered one to something like 8000001 (can't remember exactly) and all the others to a low value for 'do not use'. A restart of the computer will be necessary for the changes to take effect properly. One more thing, I found PowerDVD to be the best codec, hope this helps.

After every fresh install I've done (and there have been several over the past six months!), BBCHD has worked fine. The only relevant things I've installed before trying BBCHD was PowerDVD 7 and FFDShow. I think I waited a little while last time before installing FFDShow, so I think just installing PowerDVD caused the audio to work properly on mine without any other messing.
Just my experience in case it's relevant at all.

you need to select Connect to remote graph but I just tried it on my vista MCE and got no graph!! but a quick google found this solution.
When attempting to use the EditGraph method on a Windows Vista machine, you may notice that the media does not show up when attempting to connect to a remote graph in GraphEdit. This is due to a change Microsoft has made in quartz.dll. The proper stub code has been moved to proppage.dll. This does not affect users with any other pre-Vista OS. The fix for this is to register propage.dll, which is available as a part of the Vista SDK. You can download the SDK using one of the following two methods: Web Installer - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ofYqsqkQ%3d%3d DVD ISO - Download details: Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework version 3.5 After this SDK is installed, you can find the proppage.dll in one of the following directories: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Bin Register the dll from one of these directories, and the issue with GraphEdit should disappear. All this will do is show you what decoders are being used for audio and video. After that use Directshow filter manager to assign low priority (Do not use) values to all the codecs other than the one you want to use (Cyberlink?) obviously set that one to preferred. Their has been a few times where I have had garbled sound or video when one of the codecs doesnt work well with the other, something to do with a clock counter on the audio/video codecs. |
