Need some more info to help really.
Have you checked the max232 works properly and displays an output in hyperterminal when booting the modem? If yes, then make sure you've installed the OCX files, .net framework 1.1 and 2.0, and visual j# runtime SE. Cheers, fitz |

Hmm it's an odd one. Try registering the OCX files. Nicked from a readme:
"...by using start / run and typing in the run box "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\filename.ocx" (without the quotes)" |

It's a com port related error. Are you sure its COM1 you should be using?
Check the properties of the COM port in device manager. You could uninstall the COM port and reboot to reinstall the driver. Google also suggests that in XP, the microsoft fax service can sometimes cause this problem: *ttp://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=398578 cheers, fitz |
