Default 20 meg thru 4 meg MAC ?? stupid question but is this possible ?

hi im a complete noob, so please no insults for stupid questions, still trying to get my head around all this, ive read the haynes guide, an obviously worked out that i need new mac, im having great difficulty finding sum1 to swap with in my local area, which is why im asking as my auntie lives about a mile away an am sure she will be on different segment, if i take her 4 meg mac address an use this for my cloning of a webstar modem, will i only be able to get 4 meg speeds or is there a way of forcing the higher speeds such as 20 meg thru correct programming/software or flashing of modem in certian way etc ?

an wat happens if she ever disconnects her services, will i also lose my services ?
an just another quickie, ive told vermin mdeia to cut my services all im keeping as im paying for 20 meg phone an all tv services, im going to cut right down jus to the phone an free tv pack, (this keeps an active live feed) so before i disconnect my internet services is there anything useful i can do with my own settings or services an take anything from them such as mac address etc ?

DHCPSniffer vs DHCPForce

You bruteforce MAC's to find MAC addresses from your own UBR, which are actually useable, without having to swap / trade with other people.

Cheers, fitz

You said you're a complete noob, so presuming you manage to get a modded modem working and you've cancelled your subbed modem, consider how you will investigate/fix the modded modem when you have a problem which leaves you with no internet access.
