Default Auto Everything

While taking a photo from your digital camera, do you set the picture modes manually or keep everything auto. My camera has many modes (like night mode, landscape, etc.), it also has many options for lighting like (tungsten light, sunlight, cloudy etc). I keep it auto most of the time but it doesn't always take good pictures in auto mode so I select options manually for better results.

what's the brand? that's a good digicam btw i think i don't know much about photography so i set it auto much more convenient for me, as it will take time for me to determine what kind of lighting a subject needs.

I have a Canon Powershot A75, I usually take photos with "Speed" settings, there is a button with a running man. It's best for changing views, when anything is moving on your picture.
