Default any ideas please

OK lads i live in south east Ireland.
going to order me a receiver not sure what one yet any suggestions most helpful.
also what satellite should i be pointing me dish @ to get all the good stuff in English once box is patched.

Atm 1W digiTV open, for now anyway
26e Mbc films in English.

also depends on your location that you will install the dish to how big a dish you can have or what you can receive with a clear line of sight to the satellites.

you say you want english channels well the main satellite for this is of course astra 2 at 28east which carries the english channels for uk

there is also canal digital on 1west which has a lot of channels with english audio this is open with the diablo cam.

I just checked 26e and I cant get any kind of quality above 20% so nothing viewable. any ideas guys

What size dish do you have?
1M is the recommended minimum size for Badr at 26E (for the UK)
If your dish is large enough,is your setup tracking the satellite arc correctly,assuming you have clear line of sight?

its a triax 88cm and it seems to follow the arc correctly as I get the others easterly. was told by the guy i bought it from that 88cm triax would do the job for majority. is this the one minority you think

From memory you have a TD88 weavo? Which should just about get 26e I would have thought. Which transponder are you looking at m8?

lol yes
now thats a good question, when I do a blind scan it goes through them all doesn't it ? anyway it keeps throwing dif transponders up during search and None of them get me a picture. im missing something here arent I !!

look at lyngsat and pull the tp details for dubai sport. it's on the strongest beam from our point of view. then enter this tp on your motorised settings menu (or similar for your reciever) and nudge thie dish with the diseqc commands to find the signal. Once you have the motor setting stored and you know the dish is in the right place then blind scan.
