Default Need help about eurovox EX1000SL

Have been typing this over different forums as I've only just realised how to create my own thread. Anyway, the thing is I'm going to buy a eurovox, which is the EX1000SL for £84.99. I have virgin broadband internet here and just need to know if all i need to do is unplug the internet cable from the virgin socket in the wall, put in a splitter and connect the internet to one side and the eurovox to the other side. And should this definately ensure me of the sky sports and setanta sports and the other channels on sky etc? And do I need to add a firmware straight out the box or should it work straight out as I'm not confident I'll be able to update the firmware. Is this box a good choice as i don't have much cash which is also why i need to know this is going to work. Please respond if you know the answer as I dont want to sound thick to all this but I am to be honest LOL. If you could hit me back on my email if possible at chrisjevo8@ hotmail.co.uk that would be great. Otherwise in this thread would be great thanks.

yes thats all you have to do to connect the box and net at the same time.
the boxes normally come with free to air software installed unless suplier says otherwise.ask whoever you purchase from what sw will be on the box.if its fta then you will have to install the latest sw its very easy to do check out the top of the cable section for all the info as to how to update sw.

Thats the product description above do you know if that will need updating?
Also is it that simple to update? Just have to put it into the computer and it'll update?
Is there any boxes that are good out the box? I'm buying this from bubblessupplies.co.uk. if someone will justify my purchase

Lincsat's got everything you need, you'll just pay extra for the splitter and cable and yes it'll work out the box.
use a reputable seller like the one mentioned and don't buy a box of a fleabay.

Ok brill and I wont need to install any software or firmware, just search for channels once connected to the virgin connection and away it goes? Also will I have to put any on in the future or can I just leave it as it is and should it function ok with the sky sports channels etc?

OK..

Firstly, from the seller mentioned, YES you will only have to plug in, scan channels and done.

You may have to update the firmware in future yes, this is not difficult provided you do some reading regarding your box and flashing it.

Provided you buy from the seller mentioned, you will have all channels, latest firmware, all required parts (splitter etc) and detailed instructions and guides.

The seller mentioned is very helpful and I hear his service is excellent.

But most important of all here, read up on your box. Search the forum properly and learn as much as you can regarding your box.

Good luck
