Disable SNMP post-registration.

I've discovered that the option in the Haxorware stealth section 'Disable SNMP Agent after registration' does not work...it does nothing!

This may go a long way to explaining recent issues. To perform the fix in non-vol, type this in telnet:

cd n/s
diag_disable_post_reg true
write

Once you reboot you will now see the line 'Suspending SNMP Thread' appear during your boot process, and the task status for the SNMP thread will be 'Suspended' after booting...like it should have been!

PS: There's no point setting any of the other SNMP settings, access mode etc, as these get reset by the config file every boot.

cheers, fitz

Anyone know how to disable bpi on a SB5101 running Infinite??

I can dial in using Telnet but it wont recoignise the "enable" command..??

I was going for :
CM> cd /n/d
CM> enable bpi true
CM> bpi_version 0
CM> write

Am I missing something?

Best way is through max232 connection while the modem boots, can also work if you set NIC IP to 192.168.100.10 then boot modem, and login quick enough to catch tail end of boot process..

edit: shall we keep this just for posting commands...

cheers, fitz
Fitz, you can do the same through Putty etc, use the reboot option in the Haxorware menu whilst being connectd thru telnet and you get the full boot log from the start, even the "p" option.

Well this might stop the modem plague for a few days / weeks but after looking into it a bit more, comparing snmp output of 5100mod to haxor 1.1r31, haxor's stealth is genuinely ****ed.

Plenty of tickboxes, little effect

Done..

Could we keep this thread for commands only... any discussions start a new thread...

cd /
cd n/s
docsDevSwFilename (enter the filename of the update file specified in the config file you use)
docsDevSwAdminStatus 2 (allows update via provisioning)
docsDevSwOperStatus 2 (says update already performed successfully)
write

You can then untick the 'disable firmware updates' tickbox in Haxor, so it gives better SNMP responses.

cheers, fitz.
