how did u get the joker firmware on there as a zeta blue as it can only update its own firmware using the funcard method, u would have need a cas interface to have originally changed the cam to Joker 0.80 and probably a cas to switch to joker 0.79...

I don't have a blue zeta my cam is an actual joker cam which had 0.80 on it. I thought the joker cam firmware could be changed using a funcard too???
I was thinking of getting another cam for my other tv doesthe funcard method definetly work with the blue zeta cams coz i might just get one?

Earlier in the thread, Jarvis had some pics of tracks being cut on a Blue Zeta to prevent flashing. Well, I offered to flash someone's CAM for them on my CAS3 and now they've posted it to me it turns out that has cut tracks just like Jarvis showed.

Unfortunately, my delicate soldering skills are about as effective as Gordon Brown's charismatic skills, so I'm after some help. Would anyone who fixed their Zeta be willing to fix the one my friend sent me? I know if I try I will end up breaking it and I'd really rather not practice on one that's not mine. Anyone willing to help me out? Please!

Can anyone confirm if all channels work with zeta cam flashed with joker 0.80? More to the point do they get sound on HD channels? I'm using a joker cam but flashed with 0.80 get pitcure on hd channels but no audio. Tried downgrading firmware from 0.80 to 0.79 using funcard method but no luck?

In my area (Medway, Kent) I have no sound on HD channels with 0.80 but sound works fine with 0.79. The problem I have is that 0.79 doesn't like Film4 and Film4+1 (it crashed Media Center), so I end up with one of each CAM in my PC.

If you want me to try flashing your CAM to 0.79 on a CAS3 to try it out, drop me a PM. As you can tell from my post above, if the tracks are cut I'm no help but assuming they're intact I can do it for you, if you want. I've personally never managed to successfully flash a CAM by the funcard method, not saying it doesn't work, just that I couldn't get it to.

I'm still on 0.79 I think (no reason to change) and everything is fine for me. Looks like I'll be doing the the re-tune tonight/this weekend *sigh* so I can try 0.80 then. Could you make my life easier and send me a link to a download...

@rigs - my eyes wouldn't even stay focused on the tracks, never mind solder them! You'd need a soldering iron with the end as small as a pin.

some people saying the differance between the joker 0.79 and 0.80 is something to do with the audio when reciving the HD channels i`m yet to comfirm this. another people say that 0.80 helps with picture freezing also i`m yet to comfirm this. hope that helps you all.

i've used 0.79 on my original blue zeta and white icecrypt with my floppydtv for a couple of years and no issues with freezing channels and audio fine, using both sound (rca cables) and video (hdmi cable) from mother board....never managed to pick up uk gold+1 though......strange. pick up all other services on same transponder, see it when using firedtv player and any other app except vista mce.....Confused Stu, me too
