Smile flashing zeta blue cam with joker 0.79

Hi Guys

A bit of advice please I am about to purchase a floppyDTV, blue zeta cam and a couple of fun cards. I already have a usb infinity unlimited programmer do I need to purchase a new programmer to be able to flash the zeta blue cam with joker 0.79 and if so which one?

I have been told you can flash the zeta blue cam with joker 0.79 using Fun cards programmed with usb infinity is this possible and if so how is it done please?

Also what fun cards should I purchase Fun 4 or Fun 5?

I have some ATmega Cards can I use them?

Any help would be appreciated

you can't afaik change the zeta to a joker using a funcard but you can change the zeta firmware to one suitable with a bk using a fun 5.....to change the cam u would need a cas interface.

first get a funcard 5, u will need a programmer such as an elvis, infinity usb etc....there r cheap funcard programmers around

h**p://www.tailor-madecircuits.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22&osCsid=5cbc6dce464dec83d198de0d 0f271a61

.....if u want to spend a bit and have the ability to switch the cam to a joker get a cas 3+ interface (rel. expensive)

h**p://www.***********************/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=105

i got an infinity usb

h**p://www.falconsat.co.uk/infinity-usb-p-1965.html

once u have ur programmer and if decided to use the funcard method to switch the firmware then download the v.2C272X loader + update from here

h**p://www.boxfirm.republika.pl/

using ur programmer and software to flash the funcard you will see 3 rows

flash - u put the camloader.hex file in there
internal eeprom - leave blank
external eeprom - u put the Blue_Zetacam_C1v2C272X.hex file in there

flash the card, if u have a prob erase the card a couple of times first.

once flashed put ur cam into ur ci and open an application and it should see your cam......insert the funcard into the cam and a command to update the cam should appear....press yes and leave.....it should say downloading......wait till update successfull.

now when u insert the cam u should find the bk - boxkey - which will be the default bk 8 pairs of hexidecimal numbers/letters.....u can change this to whatever u want - must match ur img bk.....u insert the new bk in decimal format but it will switch to hexadecimal on the cam.....use windows calculator in scientific mode to chk dec v hex....all done then, find an au img for ur provider, edit details, use nagraedit, to match cam and all should be ok, erase ur card and reflash with au flash and img as ur ext epr

Hi Twintown, where can I get the firmware in hex format? Im using an parrallel programmer using funprom or funmagic and neither will accept a bin file, giving formate errors etc. Tried converting with swapbinhex but no joy. Any ideas? Thanks

Is using this CAM/Firmware combination reliable? I'm currently using a dragon CAM/Predator that freezes the picture every now and then. FTA channels are unaffected. If this is a good combination, where would you recommend I purchase a Blue Zeta CAM from?

Thanks

FireDTV-C. I've been in contact with their support and they've pinned it down to the CAM/firmware and it seems to make sence that's why I was thinking about a Zeta Blue CAM.

Thanks to the advice i've had from the guys on here, I am now running 2 Blue Zetas flashed with joker 0.80 and there's no freezing at all. Sometimes the screen will go completely green for a fraction of a second (can happen twice in an hour, then not at all for a week), but as soon as the picture moves it corrects itself.

I had some issues with Joker 0.79 where 15 or so channels would come up with a "Scrambled" message and need a reboot to fix. With Joker 0.80, this problem's gone, but I've now got half a dozen channels with audio but no video. Overall though, would thoroughly recommend a Blue Zeta flashed with Joker 0.79/0.80.

Incidentally, I also used to use an Icecrypt flashed with 0.79 and that worked perfectly as well. Wasn't able to flash it to 0.80 (think I broke the flashing part), hence bought another Zeta.
