Default 13e and 19e on a zone1 minidish.

Hi guys, just a quickie. My dad is really into his news channels and got quite excited when he saw how many I got with mt setup. So I offered to put up an extra minidish for him so he can get a few more. The majority english audio being on 13e and 19e.

Was going to point the minidish at 13e, but just occured to me to put on an offset lnb for 19e. I'm thinking its pushing it on a 43cm dish, but just wondered if anyone has had any success at all with this or tried and failed. ?

Cheers Rick

It won't work on a zone 1 minidish, I have not tried it, though. The reason it won't work is that the centre of the LNBs would need to be approx 3cm apart, which isn't possible.

You are better off forgetting the minidish, and if you want to keep it small go for a TD64, a monoblock will work, but a couple of Inverto Silvertechs and the Triax twin LNB holder would work better.

Thanks guys, he's abit tight is my dad and dosen't want to shell out any cash, he thinks its bad enough having to buy a cheap reciever. So was trying to make the best of the odds and ends i have lying around. Think i'll stick the zone 1 up on either 13e or 19e and he can have that plus a feed of the 28e zone 1 my sister uses for sky and he can make do with that. Just have to plough through lyngsat now and figure out which will be best for him.

Or get the Orbital 58cm dish with a monoblock like the 0.1db Megasat as this I know works very well for 13 & 19 and will set you back just £60 delivered with cable as well!

The idea was to do it only buying a cheap reciever, and use the spares I have accumulated. I ended up with a kit from B&Q with reciever and zone 2 dish, was supposed to be 59.99 but as there was a missing LNB I got it for 30.

So using the 2 spare single lnb's I had with the multi lnb brackets I pulled off my TD110 when I wen't motorised, my Dad is enjoying all the FTA news chanels on 13e, 19e and ((28e) on seperate dish).

Interestingly enough I saw a post on another forum that says a 3 degree monoblock will work as a 6 on a Zone 1. Never new they made 3 degree monoblocks, and don't know how accurate the post is.

Yes they make 3 degree monoblocks, and interestingly 4 degree monoblocks too!

They certainly aren't cheap.
With the 4 degree being even more expensive, than the 3 degree, which was introduced earlier.
Often the 3 degree monoblock,I've seen doesn't fit a standard 40mm collar,as it has a 60mm collar.
