Exclamation another newbie (sorry!)

Hello everyone!
been a bit of a lurker, 1st time poster! certainly on the right track here!
I am looking for an equivalent of a s*y + box (was with them until a few months ago). looking at the posts i have gone from a *view to a Euro to a krpt box..and now have a headache!
ask 3 people which is the best PVR & i am sure i would would get 3 different answers! the *view looks as though it is easy to "flash", but is there a ? mark about the updates ? also, Nagra 3 appears to be around the corner so is it worth investing in one of these boxes ? is it easier to "crack" a V**gin box ?
can anyone (please someone! lol) give me any advantages/disadvantages of the *view/Euro/Krpt (inc availability/longevity & how easy it is to "programme" these units) and the possibilty of Nagra 3 ? I am not HD ready TV wise so not bothered about HD reception.

If you want a satellite receiver, you are posting in the wrong section. Vermin is easy to crack once you know how. In England, we only have Nagra 2 at the minute, Ireland has Nagra 3. If you want to start simple, go for a Eurovox, DBox or Starview.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. yes, simple would be better!
I am looking for the cable equivalent of s*y +, ( Vi**in outside my house) so a cable/PVR box, is it really down to personal taste rather than anything else regarding the boxes ?

Depends what you are willing to do in order to get a result.

Some methods are easier than others, but each have their own advantages.

Example, virmin boxes with original cards that have been modded (MOSCs - Modified Original Smart Cards) are much more reliable when the encryption roles as these tend to auto update, whereas other methods like the funcard, will often break.

This is speculation, there is a chance is could be rolled out next month for all we know.

Of course, its not likely, but its entirely possible, as is your statement, but of course it doesn't mean this is the definative answer.

It will be rolled out, when is still not confirmed, but it will, until then lets not tempt the fates by 'guessing' dates that it might be rolled out on.
