modem not working help plz

rite im total newb at this so ill start frm begining i was talkin to my m8 other day n he said he can get modems dodgy ones done so i said my m8 had one he wanted doing. He said sure so i gave him it n next day he gave me back n said its done so went to my m8s whos modem it is n it dont work so i went to myne n i got 20meg dl out of it so i told my m8 who did it for me n he said prob needs a force config wat ever that means so he gave me back n said should be sound now so went back down to my other m8s n same thing just threw a false ip ect ect my m8 has chipped tv box so cant understand y wont work at his but does at myne? modem isa 255 if that helps i also pay for my bb but my m8 dont help plz

The place where you are taking it is possibly the same ubr as the mac which would result in it not working. Your house must be a different ubr which explains why it would work there.

wats that mean? Lol sorry. I checked ip its a fake n there is no dns server n another server but cant remember lol
