Hi,
I'm new to all this so please bear with me!
I'm in the UK/ London Kent border - trying to get Czech TV.
I have an Octagon SF518 receiver, A valid CSLink cryptoworks card, 90cm Dish pointing at Astra 3a 23.5 - 12525 V. Getting 90% quality for signal and get FTA channels OK. Universal LNB. Subscription Channels are not decoding - even though the card is recognised in the receiver, I can see my entitlements, and the card was also taken back to CZ and worked in a receiver there a few weeks ago.

Any ideas why my channels are still scrambled?

Wondering if I should get a new / better LNB or if there is an issue with the Octagon receiver. Firmware update? - Not sure how to do this.

Any ideas / help would be much appreciated.

Have you ever updated the filmware?

Hi Haven't tried updating the firmware, how do I do this? Currently the firmware is dated Oct/Nov 2007 - it's not explained in the docs how to do this other than stb (rs232) to pc.
I have an rs232 cable!
Step by step instructions would be helpful!

You need to go and get the loader programme & latest patch from a site like Satpimps, and then download the loader & run this and it will tell you in step by step format on the loader itself how to load in the patch, once it has been loaded it will then work with the card.

OK Updated the firmware to May 26 2008 - from Octagon website.
Product info page now displays this
s/w Vers v3.12, H/W Version v2.01, Loader Version v1.00.

Still doesn't work, can't get menu 9999 etc

You need to load s/w that is third party not official, google octagon 518 patch.
