Default Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Hi all, hope someone can help or advise me, I ordered the above phone from orange and they actually sent me 2 by mistake, 1 of course I have registered but the other one I'm stuck, is it possible to have this phone unlocked without it being registered to a service provider? any help would be greatly appreciatted as I don't fancy sending it back to them.
Cheers in advance

It might already be unlocked, put a sim card in and see what happens. If you want to sell, drop me a PM and tell me how much you are after.

Orange predominantly lock all their handsets, plus have their own software installed.

As blakey said though, test with another sim, it doesn't hurt.

I've heard a few people saying their 5800's are unlocked from both Orange and Vodafone, so always worth a try.
The only thing to beware of, is that if Orange realise they've sent you two, they WILL bar the secondary one.
Remember, all networks record your SIM card number, along with the IMEI you use, which means they'll see the secondary phone they shipped to you, and then blacklist it.

Although you can flog it on ebay and get money for it, if they pick up on it being sent mistakenly then the buyer will be ****ed, to say the least, especially when you offer no refund.

But your choice at the end of the day!

They will clock the problem then more then likely network bar it which will render it useless

Is there no way of changing the IMEI number or flashing it with something to get around the network bar?

As above, and backing up Danielle, if you have a handset which the network have sent out and they want back, they'll blacklist the handset, which is used by all networks in the UK and Europe, not to mention its shared with all manufacturers. The other thing that you have to remember, is they know where they ship handsets to (as I've been dealing with 3 fraud issues this week alone) and will charge you for essentially losing their property - Regardless of an accidental shipping.
