Default Using Original Firmware?

Guys,

This will sound like a newbie post and it probably is but has anyone evr discovered 250/255's cloned using the VM/NTL firmware?

Was handed a few tonight and am having no luck with them at all.

Can anyone even direct me to a link or something where I can find out more?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
