Whats the purpose of spoofing your mac, I thought it was so the same mac doesn't get seen being used on a subbed and a cloned modem there by connecting it to you.

In which case yes you need to spoof it on a router if you use one on a pc if not.

i think what he's saying is that the mac which identifies the router to the modem has been banned. and nic card behind a router would not matter but this router is connected directly to the modem.

will be interesting if toolkitz keeps the same hfc mac, will vm ban it again.

Yep G77 I changed the mac on the router, did not change the mac on the modem and was back on line

Aha.

A solution to my question elsewhere.

Did wonder why it would sit there saying operational, yet do nothing, google was too tough to load it just rolled over and died, yet the status was still happily sitting at operational!

Well of course they know what ubr you are on and they will also know what node you are connected to and which geographical area that node relates to.

You are connecting to their network after all. I'm not being funny but don't for a minute think that they can't see you on their network. If you seriously start to affect people in your local area by forcing 50meg configs and then maxing out the downstream (30meg or so) it WILL be noticed and if it persists then i would expect a tech to come and locate the problem. Make of that what you will but common sense if you ask me

Like anything, don't take the **** and you'll be ok ......
