Forgot to mention something else, this guide is stated for a KV RC BUT just follow my guide on any other broken remote controls, tv video hi fi dvd or whatever cos they all work on same princple BUT some may have more components than a kv, but as with kv remotes most rc stop working due to a degraded component or if yer stand on it (Crunnchh!!!!!)

By the way red baron I see that this is your first post, can yer hit the thanks button for me

He did say any remote.

I assume, replacing with the same sort of emitter would solve the problem, if not the other components AJ mentioned

Yes any RC can be repaired very very easy.

BY THE WAY Yer hit morrisofts thanks button instead of Jambutty.
By The Way again, if yer can't do em yerself then pm me and I'll repair em.
Also try making yerself a remote control tester up (easy to make), yer just aim a remote at my little gadget I make up for £4 and if the rc is good, a light flashes on my little rc tester, if no light then remote is shagged and needs repairing, pm me if yer wanna buy one of Jambutty's remote control testers.

Apologies for not getting back to someone who PM'D me last week on an issue, I lost all my pm's due to putting a new operating system on me pc (Windows XP Dark-Lite).
Yea ok someone asked me about a cordless mouse problem, yea same principle cos a cordless mouse works on IR remote control type transmition.
All yer need to do is this if yer mouse conks out (signs are Mouse will be lit up bright red and not flicker when yer move it OR there will be no lite at all) OK undo yer mouse and just whack a new emitter in it cost 10p, simple as that, be aware though that it may be the reciever thats at fault, same as just open the reciever BUT DON'T replace this with an emitter, replace it with a Phototransistor also cost 10p.
That's it, easy peasy and yer just repaired a cordless mouse for 10-20p instead of going out and buying a new one for about £20.
If this has helped anyone on these issues then please Don't Hit the the Thanks button, send me a funcard instead cos I got 3 card boxes and only got 1 card and it's getting to be a pain in the arse keep re-progging the card when I go bed at night to watch card box in bed and then gettin up in morning and re-progging it to watch it in me house and then havin to re-prog it so I can watch it in me kitchen when I'm havin' me tea.
