Default DVD connection to Eurovox

Hello all. I know this is going to sound like a ridiculously stupid question but please bare with me.

We had cable with a 'splitter'(?) so we could watch it in other rooms. We have had the voxbox for some time but cannot get the dvd to work with it. We have tried moving all the connections/scarts etc around to no avail.

It did work so i don't know what I've done?? The funny thing is that the tv/box doesn't work if we take the ariel lead out of the dvd.

Can any of you help with a really simple explanation of how to sort this please? I know it sounds dumb but it's driving us mad and I've looked at the manuals etc and tried to follow them but it still doesn't work.

Am loath to call in a professional for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance.

PS I have checked on here before I asked

Sorry, cheltenhamboy but I forgot to ask, is the main aerial cable (not the cable cable if you know what I mean)going into dvd? That's where it was on mine - so that would be coming to/from the dvd : a scart lead to vox, the main outside aerial lead and the power lead, that's all.

sorry to be a pain

cheers
