Default Changing Box Key On Blue Zeta Cam

im trying to change my boxkey to match my sammy 2100 but when asked to enter the new box key in decimal, im either 2 digits short or 1 extra.

the program asks me to input the number in sets of 3 digitals.

can anyone help?

use windows calculator to convert dec to hex in scientific mode
u can use 0 - 256 dec = 0 - FF hex

ie enter 239 in dec = EF Hex

If ur sammy has, say, F5 as 1 of its 8 pairs then type this in calculator in hex mode switch to dec and u get 245 so enter 245 when editing bk

if u want 07 hex type in 007 dec

cheers

Thanks TwinTown - couldn't work that out the one time I managed to get a BK changer program open! Worth knowing in case I ever manage to get it to open again.

right

changed the boxkey but nearly all channels are encrypted.

i set the bk to the same as my sammy and used that mosc im getting the odd encrypted channel to work but not all.

my mosc uses an 8 tier blocker could this be the reason?

i use a single tier blocker on my mosc - all showing - also use this img as the external eeprom on my fun5 and all channels clearing....

ive programmed a card to the correct boxkey as my cam and tested it in my sammy.

im still getting the 'this channel is scrambled' message.

do you think i should flash my cam with joker and see if that changes things?

Definitely! As far as i know, only the joker 0.79 and 0.80 firmwares work with Virgin - the standard blue Zeta firmware doesn't. I am prepared to be proved wrong on that last bit though!

if u have flashed with the zeta firmware v.2C272X that'll work .....remember with a mosc the card is put in the cam looking upside down, chip facing upwards...

thanks twintown, turned the card over and cold booted when i came in from work and its now encrypting but only for 30 seconds then the channel freezes, this happens on all channels. (not FTA).

this indicates to me its the cam.

im thinking of getting a cas to program it to joker, will a cas 2 work if i buy the j card from a cas 3?

ill hunt around for resolution but thanks anyway
