Default Decoding Dynamic Config Names

Hi, ive just been playing with some macs that report dynamic configs today and began to notice a few common strings within the file names. Unfortunatly after testing the ones i have all proved to be 2MB which doesnt help in backing the theory up but i wondered if anyone else had tried this, found any 10MB or even 20MB macs with dynamic configs.

The strings that were common in all my macs were either 'DHSUB' or dfsd'. Someone on wizardmods is hopefully supplying me with a few more macs later in the week so ill post an update then if i manage to find any 10 or 20MBs.

Anyone elses finding would be greatly appreciated

The irony is I care so little about 50meg i haven't even tried the config yet, not even been curious!

I am happy with 10meg and sometimes the odd 20meg, when they come through. But I agree with you, there are far too many people being greedy with the 50megs.

Should soon be sorted out, no doubt virmin will find a way to make things worse for the greedy buggers!

im ona 00 d0 mac now and thats dynmic but its changed its self to

cmreg-ntlhm120-rts98.cm - 2mb download - 14kbs up

this is with a 00:d0 mac

so unless the dynmic configs are just the old config files with the words all messed to make us thing there special then i dunno my theory anyways

Also to the greedy ****s with 50mb when the 250/255 can only do 30/39 mb i think there thick and should leave well along untill the AMbit 300 can be hacked which is DOCSIS 3.0 so ive heard

VM attacked the firmware on the modems once before with the ALEX update what else do you think there can do??

Hi, thanks for all the replys though i think i may have been a little confusing in my wording. One of those things where i knew what i was thinking and didnt check what i was saying.

Im refering to the common strings in the new config names and when used what speeds they are. So with the ones ive had DHSUB has been common in the config name and they have all been 2mb.

Sorry for the confusion.

your right mate on testing this i unpluged my modem and i get DHSUB then it changes back to a normal config im not forcing any configs atm as im sick of getting booted off so 2mb is fine for me at least i get to play WOW without it going off lol

lol, it looks like the 10meg i just got hold of me shall be staying in place to save a similar scenario of my girlfriend telling me the nets not working every few hours :/ also it seems to have somewhat ruined my theory as the config name contains DHSUB.

It might be better trying to build up a list of dynamic configs and their names and going from there possibly if people wouldnt mind contributing please

heres the 10MB config; KDHSUBsgvca69834ncxv9

This thread was nearly a year old, and I fail to see what relevance your post has to the title?

Iv created a chain of
xv9873254k;fg87dsfd;kfoA,.iyewrkldJKDHSUBsgvca6983 4ncxv9873254k;fg
so far - which i'm guessing is the lowest package as the majority of MACs follow this patern. Still sniffing and adding to front and back of the chain.
will try the middle and top packages soon, but im slowly getting there.
I doubt it's this easy but worth a try eh

for those who arent sure what this chain is about;
take a config name you have sniffed, and if it fits anywhere in this chain, its the lowest package [I believe]. sniffed examples;

xv9873254k;fg87dsfd;kfoA,.iyewrkldJKDHSUBsgvca6983 4ncxv9873254k;fg

gvca69834ncxv9873254
69834ncxv9873254k;fg
foA,.iyewrkldJKDHSUB
iyewrkldJKDHSUBsgvca
dsfd;kfoA,.iyewrkldJ
foA,.iyewrkldJKDHSUB
DHSUBsgvca69834ncxv9
4k;fg87dsfd;kfoA,.iy
