forget about the declination of the dish, I have setup a few motorised now and they don't match. Get your motor elevation set correctly then drive the motor to your due south sat preferably using USALS. Then adjust the declination (dish elevation) and move the motor on the pole east/west for best signal.

Yes, set the motor inclination to your latitude or Elevation on motor scale bracket (90-Lat).
Start off with the dish declination slightly up from vertical and make sure dish is centre of motor shaft. Start off with motor on zero and insert USALS data. Send dish to satellite closest to your longitude (poss 1W) Adjust the dish & motor as one around the pole and by dish el only. When happy, lock up. |

Latitude: 54.5606°
Longitude: -6.0278° This is my lat and long that needs to be put into the reciever... Elevation: 27.6° that is the elvation for the dish, now is this for the motor, because this is the thing thats confusing me , this is from dishpointer.com |

Ignore the bit in red. Set the motor Latitude to 54.6 or 35.4 on the elevation side, and enter both Lat and long into the receiver. Use 5W as your reference sat, and send the motor there using the receiver USALS. As already said, fiddle with the dish elevation, and swing the motor E and wst on pole for max quality signal on a 5W transponder.
