you need either.. 1, a blackcat cable (diy it for about two quid) or a max232

software wise, you need either putty or hyperterm, and solarwinds ftp

there are tuts available, just search

you need a male 25 pin d sub parallel socket thing, to go in the parallel port of the pc..... maplins.

then a couple of foot of cat 5 or telco wire, the solid stuff not braid/stranded.

solder together as per ambit 200 sigma tut and wire according to 2100 tut.

the reason you go for the solid wire is because when you heat up the pads and wire, the solid end of the wire just drops straight in, no messing. kinda acts as a pin header. the braided/stranded stuff doesnt work like that.

yeah, thats all you need.... oh, and a bucket of sand!

the resistors on the pic i've posted, the little rectangles. there reisistors, but you dont need them.

if your doing sa2100rs's with the spansion flash chip, use jtag utility to connect to the modem.

i can provide a full flash to write.

in jtag utility just type 'ldram flash' (will bring up browser to browse to my full flash)
then 'program flash'
takes about 3/4 of a hour
