Morning all,
I have spent the last couple of evenings reading through the forum and tutorials and have made some progress but am still a little confused. I have built a pc with 2 FireDTV cards. I also have: MCE 2005 2 Bluezeta cams 2 Funcard 4s. 1 Duolabs CAS3+ programmer. 1 Connection to NTL Dublin. One of my Bluezetas is flashed with joker0.79. The other is not as Hisat stopped selling them. From all the tutorials I have put together the following steps but would like someone to check as I am confused about the difference between flashing a card for use in a STB and a PC. 1. Flash both cams with Joker 0.80. (cant find this on Bigmaq or Chatter, any tips?) 2. Download CryptHexNTL-v3.hex from Chatter. This is the flash for the funcard and will be applied using CAS Studio or Nagredit. 3. Download NTL.bn11 from Chatter. This will be the basis of my Exteep. 4. Open NTL.bn11 with Toxic 7 and add in my BK and IRD to create the Exteep. 5. Using Swapbinhex.exe, convert the Toxic 7 output file to a .hex file. 6. Open both .hex files with CAS Studio or Nagraedit and flash the funcard. 7. Done????? Some questions. · Seeing as I will not be using an NTL STB what Boxkey and IRD should I be using? · Can any one point me at joker 0.79 or 0.80? I have browsed Bigmaq and Chatter with no joy. Perhaps they have a weird file name that I don’t recognize? · I spotted a link for Nagraedit lastnight but cant find it for the life of me this morning! Is there a link somewhere on Techwatch? Thanks for any help and advice you can offer guys! Wavey. |

if you have an ntl set top box change your cam boxkey to match that and use your mosc and it should work.
i dont use a cas to program cards so i havent got a clue on that part. if its similar to a phoenix infinity then u need an auto updating flash and the .bin11 renamed to .bin as your exteep. give me a shout when you get it working cos at the minute with my floppy and blue zeta i get every channel freezing after 30 seconds. |

funcard netid tutorial
I followed this BK and IRD does not matter with a DVB-C enter anything. Nagra edit is not needed. Many are using Media Portal (supports softcam and streaming to clients) or VMC (hardcam and no clients) I do not know how far you will get with MCE. I like Media Portal but its a journey and so do not use my cams and cards anymore as vplug is great. Last edited by Ugg; 31-03-09 at 09:36 PM. |

Thanks for the replies guys,
I think I have manage to flash and program one Funcard but now I have numerous transponder issues and zero signal strength. The signal seems to go from 100% to 0% randomly. And it is not a dodgy connection, definately a software issue. Also MCE is complaining that the my hardware is not support in my region. My region is Ireland and my hardware is cable (firedtv) although MCE thinks it is terrestrial. Balls. Tired now. |

Rom11 image and toxic 7 are two different files, just use one or the other the rom image can be wrote as a bin file, or use toxic 7 , drop in swapbinhex , to convert to hex, the flash you have used wont auto update, use latest chaos fix nov 08.
You use code on cam for boxkey and make ird up, you might find joker sw in sat section downloads,if not try alsat ,nagra edit is in cable downloads, you dont need nagra edit for toxic 7. |

Thanks guys,
I think I have my head around Cams and Cards now! I still have 0% signal strength on the Firedtv Support tool though. I have swapped out the card with my other floppydtv card by no change. I know the transponder list will effect what channels are found during a scan but would it effect the signal strength?? Does anyboday have experience with FloppyDTV cable cards?? Any resources for transponder files? Thanks, Wavey. |
