Hi all -
Got the new W5500 at the weekend. Very pleased with it, but there is one issue I can't seem to sort - I've paired it up with an LG DVD recorder which has 1080p upscaling capability. I've connected the two with a gold plated Belkin HDMI and, whilst the quality is excellent, there is 1-2mm wide vertical blue line running the full right hand edge of the screen. It doesn't impair viewing, but it is a bit annoying to have it there cos it's bright blue. It only does it in 1080p mode (it's fine in 1080i and all other settings) and I'm fairly certain it's the TV and not the cable or the DVD recorder, given that a similar sort of thing seems to be mentioned with various LCD TVs when doing a google search. I've gone into the TV's horizontal shift settings, but you can't change them in 1080p mode, only in standard, and even if you shift it then the blue line is still there in 1080p. So a couple of questions I guess - 1 - is this a fault with the TV? 2 - can I sort it in the TV service menu (and how do I get into it)? 3 - is it just because it's up-scaling rather than proper HD and, when I get a Blu-Ray player will this not happen? 4 - will it get any worse if I do nothing? Cheers |
