Hi guys I finally had enough of this, Goning off changing macs etc, I called vermin for a price to upgrade from 2 meg too 20meg, It is an extra £3.00 a month so whats the point messing about. for the sake of £3...

I guess if you are not paying vermin anything then I see the point but atleast now I'm legal and have 20meg.

You know, some of us actually pay for a modem sub too?

I have done, for 9 years now! Doesn't mean I don't want a little extra bang for my buck, and the anonymous surfing is useful at times.

Plus.. I haven't had to change a thing for a week, so you must be either really unlucky, or doing something wrong.

I know alot of you guys pay for vermins services, I just thought it great for only an extra £3.
Will use modded modem when I need anonymous surfing for any reason.

Well guys, took long enough, but the modem died, 3 days before the IP lease expires too. >_<

Strange thing was, I had to change everything, eth mac, hfc mac, nic mac AND modem serial to get back online.

Even stranger still, it was clearly killed sometime this afternoon (between 12 and 3) because I had a vpn open from work till 11.50, and only closed it for lunch.

Didn't need to open the VPN again, so had no idea till now.

I use the modded for that too, and for downloads, due to the 'uncapped-ness' of it all.

But, gaming, msn, voip calls, youtube or anything else thats bandwidth intensive, i use the subbed modem, because otherwise why bother paying for it, plus if you phuck around with a modded modem downloading everything and anything, the mac won't last even a day in some cases!!

The DHCP lease has nothing to do with it.

Didn't you know that?

So wheres the proof on that?

Are you making it up as you go?

If it's true what you say, then they are monitoring us much more than what we are led to believe?
