Unhappy Re: Any modems down post here

My VM modem went off last night about 7pm and have had either intermittent or no service since - I am in Lichfield, Staffs....anybody else had issues....it is an ex-NTL area

Ethernet light solid, sync light solid and then Ready light flashing.....sometimes sync light will flash rapidly and then go static with Ready light flashing.

Any help would be appreciated, have rang Indian helpdesk and they said to do the powercycle thing which I did and it did not resolve, it did come back on later in the evening for an hour or so but kept dropping out.

Thanks

sounds like you have the same prob as me, they might be making your area part of the national tftp's. mine was still on the old one until lastnight

Any ideas when we will know how to force with the new dynamic configs? It seems to work in my area, but only sometimes, I went from rock solid and stable to literally 3 hours less connectivity.

All macs i have used still work, they just stop working for what appears to be an undefined period.

This is really starting to niggle at me, my subbed modem is still completely fine!

Virgin pure ntl in notts seem to be changing freq from 402750000 to 331000000 back and forth trouble is when changes modem still locks to old freq when file now served on the other freq using haxorware r31 example: when modem drops i check overview stuck on "Cable modem status Ranging Complete" on freq 402750000 if i manually change to 331000000 save & reboot im back on straight away again when drops stuck on ranging complete if change back to 402750000 straight back on again when putting Preferred DS Freq 1 as 331000000 and Preferred DS Freq 2 402750000 does eventually change but takes way to long is there anyway to speed this up ? i get about five to ten mins use before they change freq and i get about 4 freq changes before they clock my nic mac and have to smac change that.
