Hi
I am a total noob at this modem malarky
I have been reading through the archives here since my modem went down on the 31st, trying to find a solution. I was hoping I could just follow the Haynes manual to get it up and running again but that hasn't happened. The problem is I don't really know what I,m looking for.....
I have a sb5100 with the Sigma-x2 build 142 ver 3.
I have tried changing MAC's with TMAC but that's doing nuthin.
I tried the 192.168.100.1 which took me to the surfboard config manager and on the status tab everything reads DONE except CABLE MODEM STATUS which remains OFFLINE. There is no hack tab there...should there be?
Went to 1337 and got the sigma page but again there is not the page options I saw in the Haynes only Main, SIGMA, Webshell and Advanced
The tftp ip and config name in the config changer on sigma page were the same as suggested settings from the 'virmins new configs and tftp' post so I haven't altered them.
I tried just randon MAC address in the hardware changer hoping to get some kind of connection but that didn't work.
From what I've gathered I assume I need to get my modded modem up and running at any speed in order to sniff out macs to get back up to decent speed. I do have a sub modem but from what I've read here I should not use it for sniffing.
Don't want to make any further changes until I know what I'm doing wrong..
So can someone please tell me how to get any kind of connection on my mod modem

many thanks
