AFAIK to change to a different IP you need to change NIC MAC.

Gets me a new IP every time.

A starview does not use the return path......

You said you pay for TV, so my question to you is does the on demand work on your subbed box or not???

Your stuck on upstream ranging as you either have no return path as i said before or you have a setting wrong on the modem

Well said newcastle1983,
if virmin brought out 80 meg people like that would be triyng to get it aswell

ITS GREED and now no one can get online for more that a few hours or days.i had 20 meg running for over a year no problems, never had to change any settings just the mac and config file when i first got it,rebooted it the odd time but worked sweet

Anyway belfast still on and off no more that 30 mins at a time then reboots and cant get online after that, have to wait till next day t try again, tryed changing the nic, mac, config's,forcing, unforcing you name it i've tryed it!!no joy, having to leech of wireless connection in my area to get online using the poormans wifi trick, which works great,so just lets face it vm are!!up to there tricks as many websites will tell you,

Sorry mate, I don't agree with you there in whole.

The thing is, forcing any config at all no matter what is just the same as forcing a 50 regardless.

However, people shouldn't be complaining if it isn't working for them.

Be grateful for whatever it is that you are getting if you aren't actually paying for it!!!

BTW I myself use 50 meg.

250 running haxorware,
So you say all that and then go on to mention that you are forcing configs?

the thing is tho 50 mb is just come out not many people will have subscribed to it anyway so therefore virgin will kno exactly where the speeds are comin from whos forcein the 50 theres no need for any1 to do it these modems arnt even capable and only do about 30 or summit so tryin to force the 50 gives it away abit and virmin will be lookin thinkin lets do summit about it already encrypted configs and bootin people off whats next no internet at alll
