Virgin Media in NDS deal

It has been confirmed this morning that Virgin Media have signed a 5 year agreement will Israeli Conditional Access firm NDS after current Conditional access supplier Kudelski Group withdrew any further support for the ailing Nagravision 1 conditional access system.

A spokesperson for Virgin Media has stated that this is a very exciting time for Virgin Media who hope to have a good future partnership with the Israeli company.

It has been estimated that cable theft costs virgin Media in excess of 6 million pounds a year in lost revenue, It is expected that the ultra secure NDS encryption system will shut out cable theft for the foreseeable future.

Testing will soon be underway of the new encryption alongside the current Nagravision system.

Neil Berkett, the chief executive, said he was “excited” about his company’s new partnership with NDS

i for one thing wont stay with virgin media 1 day after that happends they have £40+ bills a month off me, i personally will shoot straight to sky for the extra couple of quid it cost for t.v, i might keep there bb though oh and telephone

that really isnt good news, surely it will take them a while to create the new encryption?

i dont think i can be done,because vm boxes are all nagra vison based
and changing to nds they will have to give out new boxes

is this 4 real or an april fool as i dont think the can change over in a few months 2 nds system as stated earlier it would mean every one who pays vm would av 2 get new boxes and cards sent out also all ubrs wold av 2 b upgraded correct me if i am wrong
