Red face Eurovox Max Blue Power Supply Problem

Hi all,

am having trouble powering my box this morning, last night the display was playing up slightly whereby more lights than were needed were lighting up intermittently on the display. My wife told me to take out the main power cable which i did, but then this morning am getting absoloutely nothing. I have even tried a separate power cable to no avail. Is there something im missing or need to do in order to bring the box back to life cause even last night it was working fine and i can't really afford to buy a new one so any help out there is certainly appreciated.

If its an original blue max check the C14 capacitor on the power board for sighns of brown leakage or bulging
This used to be a really common fault on the blue max's

i had a similar problem with my EV 08 Max-V a while ago, mine went completely dead too...i was convinced it werent the capicitor as the circuit had no signs of "swelling" etc...and all seemed in pristine position.

what i dead instead...was left the box open, connected the box to the computer like i would usually to reflash it but...before reflashing I held down a small "black button" which is on the board inside the box for about 30 seconds...and just before letting go i reflashed it and it came back to life...

this is an alernative if there are no signs of a damaged capicitor..
