Hi all

How hard is it to replace the SPI Flash Chip in a Ambit 256, is it out with the old in with the new?

Is it not "in with the old...in with the new"?

Not up on the 256 but, can the original chip not be reprogrammed?

yes it can but for £7 per chip pre flashed with Haxoreware11rev31.bin not worth the effort eh

not read too much about them but, they do seem to be **** to do.

I've got a 256 still packaged and I've got the clips, just cannot be @rsed getting a spi programmer, just for the one off.

Thats what I mean to shell out for a spi programmer around £50 its just not worth it.

hopefully its just a direct replacement and thats it fingers X

The orig chip can't be flashed apparantly-thats why the new ones come preflashed. 7quid isn't a bad price considering and they are MUCH easier to do than the 48 pin TSOPs

to right the tsop48 chips are a pain in the @ss got two to fit this week looking forward to doing them NOT lol

glad I did not buy a programmer & clips if above is right, then I would have to source new chips as well ££££££££££££££££££££
