Hi,

Last year I had a friend who modified an old ntl:250 modem so I could get free internet. It has just gone down and after speaking to my (very busy) friend again, he tells me I need to assign a new MAC address to the modem, and this is easy to do.

Any thoughts where to start?

it is relatively easy but like everything you have have a basic understanding of what you are doing.
The first place to start is knowing what firmware is on your modem infinite or haxorware as they both have different methods to chaging macs.
You will also need a mac sniffer such as dhcp sniffer.

But first things first you need to know your firmware.

Hi m8 Welcome to the forum, you need to find DHCP_Sniffer-0.2.3.91b program just google search for it you will find it.

Just make sure you have it set to bruteforce, any macs you find you can use good luck.

i've made them up before now, lol. just a random hex number begining with 00 14 a4

hi, ive googled for the above and seem unable to download, any other ideas where i can get this? thanks

check the Private FTA

then click on Some Download Links

then click on the link where it says Cable modems

then in that folder look for "DHCP Sniffer-0.2.3.91b.rar" <-- download that

also more help if your unsure... it has tuts and every thing else

in the cable modem folder..

look for a folder called "Ambit Specific"

then look for a file called.. Ambit 250 ultimate updated 02.03.09.rar <--- download that it has have everything you need
