Default Pace D4000 Error Messages

Hello everyone,
I am trying to diagnose a problem with the chipped Pace D4000 box of my friend. It just gives a message l i l i l and sometimes the PACE message comes followed by Err 1 and sometimes the PACE message is followed by Nit? I am doing this by holding the volume button, select and power buttons and then connecting the supply. Any help would be greatly appreciated. DOes anyone know about the Error messages? and DOes anyone have the user manual for the box? I dont have any cable connection just checking it without cable connection. By the way there is no output on the TV as well.

Thanks in advance..

Well the only error I can diagnose there is the NIT. This is shown because either the box isn't connected to the cable feed or the Net ID is wrong. In your case, it is caused because of a live cable feed not being connected.

Thats understandable but how can I get to the EM, is it not possible without connecting to the cable? secondly why dont I get any output on the TV when I connect to the box to the TV?

Thanks in advance m8

You don't need the co-ax cable to enter the Engineering Menu. The buttons that have to be placed are on the STB and not remote. When you power up, press the up and down buttons directly below the LCD display.

Are you connecting to the TV using a Scart cable? If so, try the other port. The EM will be of little use if you cannot see anything

On Pace boxes, I think the TV scart port is the top one. They are labelled with a small diagram and words telling you what goes where, it won't work if you have the scart plugged into the wrong one.

Thanks for all the replies. I made sure that the scart cable is connected to the right port on the box, where it says TV (I think). I have tried to hold the up/down keys together while powering up the box but nothing much happens, sometimes the LCD display changes to NiT, LD07 but nothing is visible on the TV.

How do resolve the atmel problem? How do I re-flow it? Sorry for asking the question as I am totally new to the this.

Thanks in advance
