@ Kegnkiwi - Reports suggest that new white sly cards work in with NEWCS with no freezes and all premium channels unlock all this in a 3.3V External Card Reader, yet once you pair it to your sly box - premium channels are blocked, even if box id is tried in hex and normal (like for sky it) with no luck still all channels blocked.

The overheating issue after pairing is allegadly due to the EMM's for updatin the card are at an alarming rate and as a result it causes it to overheat - again this was a problem with NDS Premier cards and so the AU is turned off and you have no issues but then it doesn't update but aparently the way the Premier card updates without inserting into a commerical reciever should also apply to this card - thus the overheating doesn't occur.

What i don't get is how the 3.3v reader is required and my sly box runs at 5V (like many others and even the new PACE HD Recievers) yet many are saying its simmilar to SKY it and runs at 3.3V thus frying of card occurs, are sly going to give everyone new free receievers? Also - engeniers and people who work for sly are getting the cards now to test them before the public deployment moves into full swing!

According to one of the senior members on the satellites.co.uk forum the old blue card no longer works in other Sky boxes even for ftv channels once the new white card is paired to the receiver - he gets a "wrong card for the box" message.

Of course that will be the case, they aint gunna apen, otherwise they are effectivly giving free subs out, and they know once a few know half the world know with internet and what not.

Regarding the white card - its allegeddle possible to activate it without it being paired to a box ie its activated over the phone without giving them a box id? If thats the case, the BOXID issue with the new cards working on non-sly recievers is solved, you have to just get them to do it over the phone/by a reseller........

The origins of requiring the smargo or using the ci are unknown yet those testing are using Smargos and someone reported of burning card in CI slot - but it was before NEWCS was setup correctly..
