any chance the mods can put some basic modem knowledge and how2s into the stickys as I'm sure this will help the new users out instead of them asking the same question again & again.

thats what I mean 666 the cable forum is flooded with the same questions ppl need to read up b4 makin posts haynes modem guide is a good starting point.

What do you want stickied ? if anyone wants to write something go ahead,
we cant live link to any tuts unfortunately, if someone writes a basic tut not too long though il stick it.

I have a copy of Haynes Cable Modem Guide Rev1.7.2 which is 7mb rar file in pdf format is this to big?

Yes too big to sticky, its in our downloads, just direct newbies there.

Yes i think brians set it at 5 posts, thats for a reason but it does cause problems with new members i know, thats why your suggestion would be a good idea, or maybe a few short bits of info stickied together, i could close the thread so no rubbish gets posted into it, and open it to add bits, if anyone has any ideas pm me.
