Default Max Box & Remote Problem...

Hi All,
I have a problem with a Max 2008 box.
The remote stoped working, I tried another remote with no joy.
I bought a new remote with no joy.
Tried older firmware to see if that was the problem - no joy
Any ideas welcome, its a pain getting yup and down all the time and im faiding away to a moutain.
Thanks
Taz

I may have a sensor from a max blue im sure they are the same as the max blue remotes work with max v but the panel wont fit so would have to solder off from front panel. But yeh check connections first maybe just something simple.

You can use a camera even the camera on your phone will do u can test both your remote and sensor.

Simply press a button on the remote and hold ur camera over the sensor and you should see a light on the camera when u press the button on remote if there is no light on camera remote is faulty press a button and do the same for the sensor on the box holding the camera over the sensor.

Deffo that the IR RX is shagged in yer box.
So either get of yer arse to change channels or put the box on yer coffee table so yer can reach it at arms length or get a long stick and then yer can use this has a remote control, cheaper than buying another rc.
Hey this is a great tip now i come to think of it, i think i'll update me thread on knackered rc's, instead of tryin' to repair them, it will be cheaper to get a long stick and then yer won't have to replace batteries anymore!
Can everyone who finds this a good idea please send me a thanks!
AJ

been ages since ive explained this one lol
sorry i have no pic on here i am sure a search of this topic will have the guide with the pictures but anyway

ok now on max blue boxes flip down the front cover and its right by the screen that has the time on it

take ur box apart i am sure u all know how to do that by now its easy
take off the front panel ur gonna have a little circuit board that need to come off to and the ir sensor is attached to that i fixed a box a while back by simply putting a little pressure on the ir sensor and using a lighter to heat up the solder points again lol i didnt have me a soldering iron anyway you get the picture if this doesnt work for you then just order a new ir sensor and solder in it place ,
