Disk installations

I need a little help with installing my dish... I've got the angles worked out, the motor angle is sorted.. so your wondering what's wrong.

Well a 100cm dish and motor is just to heavy and hit to get on the wall !! Does anybody know of an installer that I could use in Sheffield ??

Or do you clever people have a cunning plan I could use ??

You don't need to carry the thing up there!


Rig up a makeshift pulley system. Works a treat, that is what I always do, no problem then.

i will be honest, what i did and only 8 hrs ago, was got two 30 ft ladders, carried the dish up the 2 of use held the dish and clamped it 2 the motor

Obviously a bit easier with two pairs of hands and 2 ladders. But working on my tod, I have to use a bit of ingenuity.

Can't get it installed at ground level as my south facing garden is terraced up hill !!

Spooky about the installers... I'm off to see Abbeydale Ariel's this morning, I'll let you know how things go.

Its up and running...... well sort of !! Its on the wall and the motor is running and the dish moves east and west nicely

Only issue to fix now is there are no channels

I guess I'll have to do some more digging

Enter your USALS data into the reciever. And send the motor to 1w. Assuming you have the pole plumb, the dish central on the motor shaft and the correct elevation setting on the motor, move the motor on the pole for left right and the dish bracket for up down. Get the best signal you can on 1w then lock everything off and test the rest of the arc.

Well... I thought if I can setup multi million pound IT systems.... I'll get up the later and do this myself !!

So.. T&K brackets went up, followed by the motor and then the LNB arm and mount unit for the dish. I then carried the dish up the ladders no problem.

What I need to do is get it aligned correctly because I'm not getting a dam thing at the moment. I have the dish facing south via compass and the motor is set to 0 degrees. The motor is moving correctly, to Thor (if I select it) but I don't get a good signal. Its around 22%.

I'm guessing that I'm not pointing south correctly, or the dish angle may be incorrect. Any suggestions on how to solve this ??
