I run Console Unlocker and it says console is active but SoftJTag won't let me in - all options stay greyed out. I have set my IP settings up correctly and the MAX232 is working because I can connect to the modem in HyperTerminal. Can somebody advise me please?

Can this 255 be modded?

Have you installed these?

Yes, everything is installed and I have put all the OCX files in the correct folders.

Which version you using mate? I had this so used another version and all the options came up.

I have tried the 3 versions I have which are BBB Mod, 3.10 and 3.01.

I have now got it sorted, I just restarted my PC with the modem powered on and it let me in first time. Thanks for the suggestions though guys

I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, the modem had just been bricked

. I unplugged it after it said successful flash and it went dead.

Nasty! always read the bootloader then flash it again :P
