Default Silver eurovox firmware

Hey guys,

My friend has a silver Eurovox which he has had for a few years. I own a Max-V so I am not sure, but as I understand the silver box is a Eurovox 1 or 2 depending on the number of scart connections.

He has been getting the "Please wait, code updating" message for a while now and uses the bigmaq toolbar to get the codes. I am aware there is a fix for the MaxV...that being the new firmware. However on the TCB toolbar, I downloaded the EV 1 and 2 firmware. It's dated as being from 2006, so surely that won't fix the code updating deal!

So here's my three questions.

1) Will it fix the code updating, despite the year?
2) If not, can I use the Max-V firmware? Or other EV firmware for it?
3) Failing that, anything else I can do to get rid of the message?

Cheers!

you need the latest firmware which is the files dated the EV1 = 30/11/08 ... EV2 = 29/11/08

on the toolbar try this way
chatterbox toolbar/files & fixes/updates and fixes/eurovox fixes/eurovox 1 and 2 fixes/27th november 2008 fixes, both files are in here

You will probably also need Dnupman loader so you can flash the box

I have dnupman, and used the eurovox blue firmware, however it appears as though it has conflicted with the box. Now I turn it on, and I only get "- - - -" on the display. Is there anyway to fix this?

Please tell me it aint bricked, it's not my box to brick! And that'd be a nightmare. I'd have to do the honourable thing and shell out the cash for a new one

I have no idea how to unbrick it. I've never jtagged anything, and cant find a comprehensive guide.

I think perhaps it is a cloned box. I just assumed it was genuine, but the RF In bit under the cover comes down about 12 spaces on the vents, it says made in Korea on the back, it was bought from a dodgy shop and there was no warranty sticker on the back!

Sorry to be a pain guys, but I've been cool thinking "Nah it can't be bricked" but naturally, gettin a bit anxious now!

Cheers!!

It is in fact, a EV Max. Just realised like a dumpling it says Max on the remote. I assume though this is the same as the 1 and 2? It has two scarts anyway.

I can't update the firmware because when I connect it to the PC, it can't find it and the text keeps blinking between COM1 and COM2. That suggests I've duffed it pretty good (or bad, as it were!)

Is there anything I can do with it? Feel like taking a gun to my head right now!

the EV1,EV2 and the max are all different and all have different firmwares.
it looks like you could have an EV2 that has been jtagged to a Max blue
you say you used dnupman to flash the box with but the latest blue firmware is a Unified Flash Loader so it looks like you have put on the wrong or old firmware.
