Default TCP Connection Failure

Hey guys,

I've not been doing too well with my technology recently haha! I also didn't know whether to put this post in the sticky above, but decided not to because I think my modem has gone down due to something I've done, rather than VM.

Anyway, I came back from uni 3 days ago or so and noticed that my modded modem wasn't working. So I attempted changing various to TFTP and MAC addresses. After a while, Ambit config tool gave me "TCP connection failure". This ius where we are today.

It's doing my head in, so naturally I plugged it in to see if the modem would work, and of course it didn't. Ambit gives the same error message. Then I decided to check out the modem status page (192.168.100.1 i think) and found something interesting. This is the mac address assigned to my modem:

******de:ad**

Not only is it unusal, it blatanly says "dead" in the middle of it. Have I done something wrong? And how do I get around this?

I'm just waiting for someone to tell me I cant get around this and that I'm sacked :P

cheers folks! You guys are my heroes haha

id probably edit your post and remove that mac address ( even thou i suspect everyones had it as of now)
turn modem off. change nic mac. turn modem on WITHOUT coax in. change hfc mac ethernet mac, usb mac, and modem serial. dont force your configs for now and see how u go.

I suspect that Mac, is the mac of the Ethernet port of the modem, not the actual modems Mac.

Still, as baked says, best be carefull when posting anything like that, as some Mods may not know, and BAN YOUR ASS! lol

Did you change the ethernet MAC as opposed to the HFC MAC?
