Default pace 1000 freezes

hi all,

i've a pace 1000 dvti in a pure area, it has become a bit tempermetal of late, it'll work but it'll either freeze completely or it'll become unresponsive to the remote.

i've noticed some of the channels aren't working properly either, even after reconfiguring the card. but I noticed the signal is a little on the low side.

looking to try a new card but doubt this will fix the unresponsiveness.

Can anyone help me diagnose this a bit better?

ps. i've also a pace 1000 for tw which i'd love to get working but i have no idea how to convert it for a pure area. could i swap the tuners?

cheers

For the first question, try a different tuner. These boxes are old now and they tend to get very hot hence the slow responses. Also, if you are running the old firmware then try and update as this will speed up your box a bit. For your second question, you don't need a new tuner, search the forums for how to change the Net ID of the box.

thanks blakey, perhaps the second question wasn't quite clear. the second box i have is from a docsis area and i'm in a davic! i'd be interested to find out how much effort there would be in converting it. If its a silly amount of work could i perhaps just use the tuner to fix the box i'm currently using?

You shouldn't need to "convert it" the Pace 4000 should work in all areas. The Net ID should set itself in your area, just make sure you set the frequency and symbol rate and you should be fine .

Ahh sorry mate didn't read your post properly. Yeah, tuners from Pace 1000/b/t/2000/4001 should fit. I think the 1000t only works in Pure but the rest work anywhere.

nah aidy. 1000 tuners are diff from 2000's. they look the same but dont fit eachother.

have a look at the box, at thew rear of the tuner. there might be a diode soldered onto a voltage regulator. remove it if there is

!000 or 4000 wont auto set net id in pure, you can set with a funcard, they wont update either so update the tw box in tw first to 3.6 if you can, thats the latest virgin epg etc, otherwise it will stay on old tw or whats on it.
