Hi all can anyone help bought a max232 but i have no serial ports on my PC but its not a mac. I have a USB to max cable but it will not work as it is looking the USB software can anyone let me know if such software exsists and if s where can i get it.

You need to install the drivers fopr the usb > serial converter

i downloaded PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_1025.exe then set me console putty to use com4 worked like a charm on me lappy. Jtag is timeing out all the time but all me other apps worked.

Yeah, really you are best of using a PC with a native serial port.

The converters dont always work as expected.
