please help ambit 255 infinite

hi im a complete newbie....anyway i did the dchp sniffer found about 200 macs but only 1 in the list had a config filename cmreg-mota4100-bas.cm ttftp of 10.137.103.8 so as it was the only one i found i used it but it keeps disconecting every 5-10 mins and done a speed test and im getting 10 meg down but only 0.48 upload and cant seen to find anymore on the sniffer cos the connection keep dropping any advice would be gratefull...and in simple language lol many thx mongo

You are getting disconnected because you are using a MAC that is live in your area.

You can't both be connected with the same MAC so you ending getting the disconnections you mention.

What you need to do is try to go to a friends house and sniff some MACS from a little way from your house, they will be on a different UBR hopefully so you will not get disconnected when you go online with them.

Also sounds like you are in a Pure area so if you can get the Vermin Welcome Page you can sniff for MACS from there. Also if you are using DHCP sniffer, go to the Discover button at the top and click the little arrow next to it and click bruteforce so that it is selected.

Put your current working MAC, or any working MAC for that matter and hit discover. This is sometimes available to return MACs that are on a different UBR from you so you can use them also.

Dont bruteforce too often otherwise u will get too much attention that u dont need really.

thanks for your reply guys....and i think im using a different sniffer mine is called dchpforce.exe and left it running all night found 600 macs but only one of them had config filename which is the one im using...and your quite right mate im in a pure ntl area....

by vermin page do you mean the click to activate page?

Also am i doing something wrong when sniffing because im finding lots of macs but none of them have config filenames or tftp....and i would of thought id have loads as im in a fairly built up area....?thx guys for the knowledge

By Vermin Welcome Page, yes I mean the Click to Activate BS.

Also, the MACs that appear in DHCP Sniffer without config names etc are CABLE TV BOXES that are on the network.
