hey,
ive got 2 modems one is a ambit 256 & ambit 255
there both ex virmin and havnt been plugged in since but they both have virgins software loaded on.
as i dont have a max232 cable i was wondering is it possible to hack these modems by ethernet or usb?
i have a program called am(cho)bit ? which says it can do it by network?
can any one help lol

Nope, that program you mention is for changing the MAC/Config when using Infinite. You will need a MAX232 for the 255 and an SPI Programmer for the 256.

Yes it can be done.

The 255 with a max23 (about 8 quid)

And the 256 with SPI programmer or SOIC test clips. (20 quid approx)
