Default Lines on sagem dbox 2

I have a sagem dbox2 x1, the problem i have is 5 vertical white lines on the tv screen. Has anyone any ideas what is causing this? thanks bob

Loose scart or the box is on it's way out mate.

checked all the scarts they are fine, is there another part i can replace?

Are you sure its not the tv ? is it ok through dvd for example ?

ive tried it on more than 1 tv, whatever i do theres 5 lines on the screen.

ok, i would check all capacitors for bulging leaking first of all, check the scart connections on the board also ,maybe solder joint.

try changeing the settings

dbox / settings / video / format / try autodetect

I'm fairly sure vertical lines are typical of video memory failure.
thats what i remember from the days of crt pc monitors anyway.
And as a dbox is basically a unix box it could be the cause of your problem.
I dont know if the memory is replaceable or not, but if it is, it might be worth a try.
