Well I could not wait so I went ahead and purchased the TECHNOMATE 1500 CI + SUPER + 80cm DISEQC MOTORISED PATCHED with magic I think.
Also purchased a Digisat pro Meter, without it its like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Laters. |

I've never used a technomate, but I imagine it's similar to the Manhatten for the patch, that's dead easy - if a key needs updating just enter the key with the remote, you don't need a card.
One piece of advice with the dish - if you can get away with it, mount it at ground level, they are a pain to setup working up ladders - and I hate diseq on a good day! |

I live on a terrace thats faces north to south so any angles beyond south to west is out of my limits. I cant set it up at ground level because the rear garden is pointing west to east and the cable run is long, also the dish would not last long around here at ground, it'll get knicked.
The only option is bracket on the front of the house and just below the gutter, hard work but the only option I have unless the satellite can penertrate a house and walls to get all the satellite east. The other problem os the actual house, brickwork is stone and fixing the bracket to a flat brick is going to be a bit of fun, but I like a challenge ![]() Comments needed in regards to the actual system and do I need to program cards etc or does the inbuilt cam and patched receiver do all the work? You don't need a card, the patched cam does all the work.
You'll probably just go for the satellites from 13 east to 28 east then, that should be easier to setup. Let me know when it gets delivered, you never know, you might get some really good instructions ![]() |

I purchased this syetem and not taken into consideration where the **** Im going to put the dish.
Just had a look at my sky dish and its practically pointing down the side of the house, so even trying to get the dish to go to 1 deg west is a no no. It looks like a T&K job at the rear of the house and above the gutter, better I thing because its hidden from view and up out of the way. Laters |

You might be able to get as far east as 19 east on the rear wall, depending on how much stand off you've got with the brackets. You should then be able to get all the way round to 30 west.
Do you have an outhouse/brick shed/garage you can mount it on? |
